Job Description & Requirements:

The Head Pickleball Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing all aspects of pickleball-related activities and offerings at our flagship venue in North Carolina. Our facility's three primary pickleball pillars are court reservations, open programming, and corporate events. The Head Pickleball Pro will be responsible for overseeing each of these pillars, striving to maximize court occupancy and player experience. Key responsibilities include managing current programming, proposing improvements and new programming, reporting on pickleball sales and trend analysis, organizing tournaments and events, leading junior pros, developing training programs, and attracting and retaining Rally's target audience.  

The Head Pickleball Pro will have a direct impact on building our company into a leading lifestyle brand in the active leisure space. The Position will work closely with management to understand the primary value drivers between court rentals, classes, events, and tournaments and build programming that supports those findings.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Pickleball Programming: 

  • Oversee our company's current pickleball offerings. This includes on-court instruction as well as advising our company's junior pickleball Associates in running programming in a cost-effective manner. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Rally departments to organize and run quarterly events, programming, and tournaments. 

  • Audit current programming and provide suggestions on how to improve the offering 

  • Provide guidance to our company's operations team on how to integrate and execute Rally’s pickleball programming 

Training and Development: 

  • Develop and train Pickleball Associates as needed;  

  • Train our Captains (our company's version of servers) on the basics of pickleball so that they can effectively communicate to our guests. 

Pickleball Partnerships and Inventory Management: 

  • Consult management on relationships with pickleball partners/vendors. This includes serving as the point of contact for pickleball vendors and being familiar with the key terms in Rally’s agreements with these partners.  

  • Set inventory standards for pickleball paddles, balls, equipment, and apparel. This includes inventory tracking and restocking procedures.  

  • Create SOPs to hand off to our company's venue team 

Community Engagement: 

  • Recruit and grow our company's programming, monitoring weekly programming. This includes regular communication with players and proactive recruitment efforts to bring new players into our company. 

  • Manage relationships with community partners as they relate to our pickleball programming 

Reporting and Collaboration: 

  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on pickleball sales and participation data 

  • Provide regular reporting and feedback to leadership on trends, concerns, and opportunities within the pickleball program. 

  • Collaborate with venue managers for pickleball tie-ins with Food & Beverage (F&B) and Events. 

Special Programming and Events: 

  • Propose and design special programming for holidays and other occasions. 

  • Execute approved special programming to enhance our guest experience. 

Labor and Inventory Management: 

  • Audit and adjust pickleball labor (associates) to meet company labor cost goals  

  • Ensure proper court maintenance. 

  • Create a weekly schedule for our Pickleball Associates.
