Tennis Management Company is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Tennis Professional, Director of Junior Development for facility in  Colorado.  Tennis Center has 8 outdoor hardcourts, all of which are lighted and set in a beautiful location. Our season runs from mid-March to the end of October.

Qualified candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of energy and enthusiasm, competency to teach private and group lessons to both adults and juniors of all levels. This prospective person will work weekdays and evenings, as well as weekends. Their primary responsibility will be working with juniors of all levels in group, team and private lessons. They will also teach adult drills, mixers and clinics as needed and assigned from the Director of Tennis. Must have a 4.5 or higher playing level and be a member of USPTA or USPTR.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Teach tennis skills through effectively planned classes and practices at a level appropriate to age and ability.
  • Must adhere to positive coaching philosophy; motivate youngsters through encouragement and praise.
  • Make sure instruction and games are safe, well organized and fun for children.
  • Will assist the Director with the goal of providing the best possible instruction and teaching environment to all members.
  • Manage USTA Junior Tennis program with up to 100 youths
  • Provide proper warm-ups before activities and adequate conditioning for physical fitness.
  • Player skill evaluation and development recommendation
  • Assist in planning and conducting special tennis events and activities (conditioning, tournaments, inter club matches, etc.)
  • Teach adult classes, drills, clinics and mixers as assigned
  • Attend staff office meetings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director

Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior knowledge and experience developing junior players
  • Knowledge of USTA‘s 10 and under tennis using the Quick Start format
  • Ability to deliver fun, engaging, safe and informative tennis sessions to kids
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships
  • Previous experience as Tennis Pro (3 year minimum)
  • USPTA/ PTR /Net Gen. certified preferred
  • Player experience as a junior, college or adult
  • Competitive experience preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred

This is a seasonal position with no housing. The hired person must have their own lodging and transportation. Candidates will go through a background check through both PTM and the USTA.

Compensation includes:

  • hourly rates for classes based upon numbers registered
  • percentages of private lessons
  • bonuses for increase in class retentions
  • paid time for administrative work
