Job Description & Requirements:

Country Club, a premier country club in Connecticut is looking to hire an enthusiastic, innovative and hard working certified Assistant Professional. 

Club has a vibrant tennis program that includes 7 women’s teams, 3 men’s teams, 350+ junior players, many tournaments and social events and over 700 tennis players.

The ideal candidate will work alongside our Director of Tennis to continue building upon the success of one of the busiest country club tennis programs in the tri-state area. This is a great opportunity to build a career as a future Head Professional and Director of Tennis.

DUTIES (include but are not limited to):

Assist, in conjunction with Director of Tennis and other staff members, all women’s and men’s practices, junior programs held at the Main and Beach Clubs, assist and organize some adult and junior tournament and events. The Assistant Professional will provide private and group lessons to juniors, ladies and men.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Help members with pro shop sales, string rackets, teach exclusively using 10 and under guidelines and equipment for juniors 4-10 years old, some pro shop hours, administrative duties, respond to emails, book courts and lessons, and light court maintenance. Work with Director and fellow teaching professionals to form teams, make calls for player confirmation, send lineups and track weekly scores. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be a certified tennis professional, would have at least two years of experience teaching in a private club setting and have experience teaching women’s competitive teams and 10 and under tennis. Must be able to relate to all ages and levels of junior players. Must possess VERY strong communication skills and be a team player, be willing to work nights and weekends, and have a very strong work ethic. Must have their own transportation as there will be some driving from the Main to the Beach Club and vice versa.

College tennis experience and a minimum current playing level of 5.0 is required. Must be registered with netgeneration.com and have completed the coachyouthtennis.com course prior to the start date. Female instructors are encouraged to apply.

START DATE:

Memorial Day weekend to the end of September.

COMPENSATION:

The financial package includes a very competitive salary, percentage of lessons, stringing, housing (if needed), and lunch and dinner while on duty. Assistant Professional will also receive a clothing allowance and will be required to work six days a week. Day off may be a week or weekend day.
