Job Description & Requirements:

SUMMARY:

A very busy, family friendly tennis club in New York is seeking an Assistant Club Manager / Head Tennis Professional. This position will be primarily responsible for over seeing the Tennis Teaching Staff and Tennis Budget while assisting the Club Manager with certain administrative duties. The right candidate will have at least 5+ years of tennis teaching experience and 2+ years experience as an Assistant Director or Program Coordinator at a successful club. Knowledge/Experience at an Indoor Tennis Facilities and North East Tennis is a strong plus. Compensation for this position will include a base salary, on court teaching rate, and bonus.

WORK WEEK:

This is a year-round position unless otherwise specified by Club Management, and your work week will typically be 5-6 days per week, including at least one weekend day, approximately 50 hours per week, or as otherwise set forth by your supervisor(s). It should be expected that half of your work week will be spent on court teaching and half overseeing administrative responsibilities.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION (responsibilities include but are not limited to):

·         Providing direct oversight to the tennis teaching staff and ensure that all club standards are met. 
·         Responsible for all financial aspects of the tennis program. Set budgets, track goals, and meet standards.
·         Grow revenues across all programs, as well as implement and grow new programs.
·         Educate and train tennis professional staff in the curriculum and culture of the Club.
·         Take part in hiring all future pro staff.
·         Take part in growing all tennis programs, and maximizing the club’s profitability.
·         Developing private and group lesson clients for yourself and the club’s pro staff.
·         Be an active contributor to the Club's pro staff and be willing to teach lessons to all Club clients.
·         Hold weekly staff meetings and attend weekly manager meetings.

All employees are expected to exhibit a high level of professionalism, team spirit, honesty, commitment to customer service, and a superior work ethic, and to use their best efforts, skills, and abilities to faithfully perform their duties as Club employees.
