Job Description & Requirements:

Tennis company is looking for a level 3 qualified coach (or strong level 2) or equivilant qualification from another body/country to join our growing team of enthusiastic tennis coaches on an employed full time basis, starting from January 2018.

A person who is full of energy, willing to learn and who can build on strong relationships with clients to help grow and enhance the reputation of our business. The right person for this role is someone who enjoys working with a range of abilities from beginners to club team players of all ages and are passionate about growing the game of tennis. We welcome applicants from all over the world.  

The role will consist of delivering the following:

On court: 

  • weekly term time group coaching programmes
  • school holiday camps
  • regular match plays
  • open days
  • school links
  • 1-1 private lessons
  • representing clubs in team matches

Off court:

  • attend weekly team meetings
  • attend regular club committee meetings (6 times a year)
  • forward plan lessons
  • regular feedback to your team manager on progress of the programme
  • assist with marketing the programme 
  • reply to emails and phone calls 
  • keep accurate class registers 
  • work with the website team to ensure online programme is correct and up to date
  • wilingness to drive to a variety of venues
  • keep an accurate diary of work

Personal skills:

  • organised
  • good communicator both on and off court 
  • punctual
  • reliable
  • enthusiastic about tennis
  • self motivated
  • professional
  • pro-active
  • good improvisational skills

Other requirements:

  • hold a full driving licence
  • have a valid DBS

Pay and terms:

Depending on the qualification and experience of the applicant a starting salary of between £15,000-£20,000 will be offered. Any successful applicant will need to pass a pre determined trial period on a self employed basis prior to being offered a contract of employment, which would have the added benefit of a pension scheme. Example 3 month trial period: If a salary of £18,000 was agreed the coach would be paid £1500 a month for 3 months. After the trial period and if successful the coach would be offered a full time employed position. 

We are also able to assist with accommodation for anyone who is interested in the role that does not live within a commutable distance of the Club. We can also provide access to a car. If accommodation or a car is needed the salary would be reduced to reflect this.
